Jonna, Peter, Katrine, Asger and Mårten are all people with an important liaison to one another, but who are avoiding to be truthful.  BJÖRN’S THOUGHTS

I was sent a script by Danish writer Kim Fupz Aakeson, whom I highly admire, and found an ideal part for my favorite actress Ann Petrén. I was excited to make a movie again after a couple of years working in theater. This time, I enjoyed collaborating again with Ulf Brantås, this time attempting a simpler cinematography, with longer takes, less cuts. Also, this film offered a certain low-voice unobtrusiveness between the actors in the ensemble. It was a sheer joy to work with so many talented actors: Gustaf Skarsgård, Malin Buska, David Dencik, Johan Widerberg, Peter Andersson etc.

This film, too, portrays individuals breaking up from old patterns, moving from routine lives that have become too cramped for them, barring their possibilities to lead more fulfilling lives.

Together, Daybreak, Mouth to Mouth and Happy End constitute The Trilogy of Liberation.
